Release Date Announced for Jessica Chastain’s Series The Savant
According to CinemaDrame news agency, Apple TV+ has announced the release date for the miniseries The Savant, starring Jessica Chastain, alongside new images from the show. The series will premiere on Friday, September 26, with two episodes and conclude on November 7.
The story, inspired by the Cosmopolitan article “They Call Her The Savant” by Andrea Stanley, follows a secret agent known as “The Savant” who thwarts potential mass killings by inciting extremist groups.
Besides Chastain, who was recently seen in George and Tammy and won an acting Oscar for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, the cast includes Namdi Asomua, Jordana Spiro, Cole Doman, Trinity Lee Shirley, Toussaint François Baptiste, James Badge Dale, and Paolo Schreiber. Asomua and Chastain previously collaborated on Netflix’s The Good Nurse. In addition to George and Tammy, Chastain starred opposite Oscar Isaac in the series Scenes From a Marriage.
The eight-episode series is written by Melissa James Gibson, who was nominated for an Emmy in 2017 for House of Cards and has writing credits on The Americans and Anatomy of a Scandal.
